    Hi

REALLY need some help – I’ve got to do an install of an update on Hustle, and have been in talks with their support team (who are amazingly helpful) BUT I am a bit of simpleton when it comes to the technical bit.

They’ve sent me instructions, but I don’t understand it nor do I have a clue how to sort it!

Basically I’ve developed a website https://www.theprintcentreromford.com and I need to do the upate to fix browser issues, but I don’t want to lose all the work I’ve done ….. In order to install the update I’ve got to delete the original theme where all the work has been done, and then reinstall it … which will lose everything I’ve done.

I’ve really hit a wall because of a lack of understanding on this side of things, I’ve read the links sent to me by their team but its like looking at something written in another language.

    Can anyone help me ????

This is what I’ve been told I need to do …. (and can’t do it) and I need to get this done asap really .

If you have customized the main parent theme instead of using a child theme to hold you customizations which is the best practice approach then yes it will lose all of them.

Another approach would be to backup your theme first by accessing your site VIA ftp and downloading your theme folder to your computers harddrive as a backup.

    thanking you in anticipation

Have you tried contacting WooThemes regarding this?

    Yes I have,

Above i stated i have been liasing with them and included their advice in the italic writing.

I don’t understand how to do this, even with reading the weblinks, I am not sure what to do

    Thanks

Basically, you will need to set up a child theme and manually move your changes there. It would involve using FTP, creating and copying files and using a local text editor to compare file versions. If that’s beyond your abilities, you could consider hiring someone:
