word break at end of line

Hi,
At the end of many lines in my blog post, the word gets cut in half with the other half starting on the next line

ex:
touch of annoyance because the other end typi-
cally is some machine telling me I have won a c-
ruise.

I’m using the twenty twelve theme, but have tried other themes and they have also had the same issue. I don’t have access to the custom CSS option..and so the fixes I have seen on the forum already address it in that manner. Is there another way?

I would appreciate any help. Thanks!
