Word Count feature in Textarea field

Firstly can I say what a brilliant plugin this is!

I’m running the latest version 2.2.2 and trying to get a minimum number of words to be included in a textarea field, but it’s not actually checking the word count.

Do I need to put some code into my functions file – or is this a known bug?
