• Hello
I am a newbie with Word Press.
When I download Word Press file to my PC any .php file shows a Dreamweaver Icon.

If I double click index.php it tries to open Dreamweaver.

I use xammp control Apache MySQL and File Zilla are running.

Can anyone please advise what to do?
    Many thanks

    John

You don’t open WordPress by double-clicking local files. You must instead open your browser and enter the URL of your localhost setup — perhaps https://localhost/index.php will work.

Thanks for reminding me Dion, maybe I was thinking more about the Dreamweaver Icon! I haven’t worked that one out yet!

The ‘Dreamweaver’ icon shows because you’ve associated all .php files with Dreamwever. It’s the same way that all .doc and .docx files show MS Word icons. All it means is that your PC uses Dreamweaver as the default program to open that file type.
