    Hi Sue,

Not sure what you mean by “linked” here–we use the same users that WordPress does (we don’t have a separate table to do that, it wouldn’t make any sense). When you login to WordPress, we are aware and use that user’s information.

    Is that what you’re asking?

We don’t create listings FOR the users, we just assign the listings to a user IF they create one when they’re logged in (and you have it setup for that).

Thank you – so all WordPress users will be listed in the directory? (this is exactly what I want)

And Is there a way to password protect the list, so only those that are WordPress users can see it?

    Thanks
    Sue

    Hi Sue,

Our listings are not actual user profiles so when you say “all users will be listed in the directory”, I’m not exactly sure what you mean by that. Can you clarify?

Do you just want to have the ability for all registered users to post? That we support.

If it’s something else, I need to understand it better.

Password protection of URLs is something that membership plugins are very good at. You’ll want to use one of them to handle that aspect of it. It’s not a feature in BD itself.

Let me try from another angle – here’s what I need to do (sorry to be confusing, my customers do that to me all the time – “just state what you need, not how to do it!”

All of the users (those that will be listed as a Word Press user) are members of the organization. I would like a Directory to list all of the Word Press users (members) as a page on the website. The listings need include their names and possibly the contact info and their “rank” in the organization as well as their affiliation. I have not done so but assume WordPress can be configured to collect all of this info.

This Directory page then needs to be only available to those that are users and are logged into the website.

    Hope that is clearer.

    Hi Sue,

Yes–that is. Yes, you can make a listing for each user in the system, no problem.

We definitely support everything you want above, except the limitation about showing the listings to users based on being logged in. You’ll need a membership plugin like Restrict Content Pro to do that.
