• As a self professed Old Newbie, I am happy to share my bad example here. The 15 minute install took me a wee bit longer (so I’m slower than most.) I did figure a few tweaks to the Green Marinee Theme (thank you, Ian), but I’m stumped on a few things.

    • Word Press Pages aren’t formatting quite right. Although I lifted the default page.php, I’m not sure about how I should edit it (or the CSS) to get what I’d like.
    • My Links have categories but the Theme isn’t picking them up. I switched to zen-minimalist and see that formats right there. Again I’m not sure if it is a .php edit or if there is a CSS solution.

While it is a bit early to worry over back ups, I read the material and it doesn’t seem to cover my back end Host sites manager. I can back up to a CVS file, but I’m a not sure how I would restore it. That is a problem for later and Host site. I tried the Backup plugin with disastrous effects, but it probably meant I didn’t install it properly.

If anyone has a thought or a clue, I would appreciate your suggestions.

    Duh! K.I.S.S.

After struggling with looking for complicated and exotic solutions I solved problem 2 with the simple line <?php get_links_list(‘id’); ?> to remove the more exotically written parameters of that line in the Template.

Still struggling with that footer though.

Ok, I broke the Net. ??

Time to start over and find out if I learned anything about backups. Well smilies aren’t enabled here or I don’t know how to use them or that one. ??

Fortunately, Al Gore dropped by (he was so helpful when we create the Information Superhighway together — LOL) and we sort of patched things up again.

The index.php had disappeared from the root directory — so the bottom line is I have 2 Word Press installations with 2 databases one where I want it with little in it and one where I don’t with all the changes and posts thus far.
