About a week ago my website crashed with a fatal error due to Wordfence (per Bluehost). It was disabled and eventually deleted from the site. I am using the Newsletter plugin. When I went to save a new edited newsletter, I received a wordfence branded 403 error and the save action was blocked. Bluehost can’t find any traces of the plugin in the system files.

Any ideas if there is some hidden file that would be left with Wordfence files that would be causing this despite the plugin being deleted.

    Thanks!

I discovered the issue from other forums. If you have WordFence installed on other websites that are on the same server, delete WordFence on them also. I did that and the issue immediately went away. I have been using Wordfence for years and I am sad to see so many issues posted within the last couple of weeks and no update to the plugin on www.ads-software.com for two months. There is obviously an issue, hopefully, some updates in the future!

Oh wow. That can’t be good. I think you should reopen your support ticket and get their team to look at this.
