Wordfence 5.3.5 has been released. The release went out at Sunday evening 9:20PM pacific time.

    The changelog is available here:

    https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/wordfence/changelog/

This release contains several fixes and improvements. Most notably, we’ve fixed an issue that may have caused duplicate schedule scans under certain conditions. We’ve updated the country blocking database for our Premium customers. We’ve also added an option which several customers requested which allows you to disable PHP code execution in your uploads directory.

    Happy 2015!!

  • I updated the wordfence plugin this morning and now cannot access the admin section of my site. I receive a Error 500 server error.
The front end of the site is unaffected but the backend displays the error.
    Please advise.
This was the only plugin that required updating so I am thinking wordfence is the issue.

Can you open a new forum post? Thanks
In the meantime, try toggling your permalinks back to default then to what you had them set to before. I’ve seen this before with other plugins and might work with your site.

heads up… the “Referer (website visitor arrived from) that matches:” input field is now truncated on the “Advanced Blocking” page.

    Clarification: User input is truncated.

    Also note misspelling.

    Thanks!

I don’t know what that means and if it applies to me.
describe what that refers to please.

It’s related to the thread topic, not your specific issue. Thanks for creating a new topic.

16 Wordfence file change alerts regarding the updated Wordfence 5.3.5 plugin? Something must have gone wrong with your update guys. Pls check.

…. “If you see a lot of changed files in a plugin that have been made by the author, then try uninstalling and reinstalling the plugin to force an upgrade. Doing this is a workaround for plugin authors who don’t manage their code correctly” …. ups.

After I updated my connection was reset several times, even when I try to update core files (?!?) from the admin backend and the scan will not finish. Great plugin until now!

… forgot to mention – the site remained (after the update) in maintenance mode. I had to manually delete .maintenance in FTP.
