    Hi guys,

Hope this finds you all well.

I wonder if anyone could advise on the following.

I’m trying to install a button on a portfolio page, this button utilizes the function javascript:history.back()

Unfortunately once trying to save, WordFence warns me that the javascript code was something it did not recognize.

I’m just looking to be able to whitelist this where would I do this?

    Thanks in advance

Hi @acmestudios, thanks for contacting us over your issue.

This sounds potentially like Wordfence is considering the Javascript inclusion as some sort of injection and it needs to be told this action is normal.

From the Wordfence Dashboard click on Manage WAF. Then you will see Basic Firewall Options > Web Application Firewall Status. Change the option to Learning Mode. Now perform the actions that were causing issues, in this case inserting some Javascript code and saving. This will help Wordfence learn that these actions are normal and it will allow them in the future. After you have finished performing the actions, switch the WAF from Learning Mode back to Enabled and Protecting. Now test to see if these actions work correctly.

https://www.wordfence.com/help/firewall/learning-mode/ is an amazing resource for learning more about the WAF and learning mode.

If that’s off the mark, let me know if you’re inserting the button code from a specific editor plugin, the WordPress Gutenberg editor, or the code editor in a template or child theme.

Let me know how you get on!

    Thanks,

    Peter.
