    Hi @guckmada,

Generally speaking, there’s no set amount of resources that we know Wordfence will definitely use in every case and could be affected by things like shared hosting, available RAM/CPU, or a large quantity of installed WordPress plugins (or a large number of files on the site in general) that results in more queries.

In our 7.11.7 update in July we reduced database queries by 38% across our tests, along with CPU usage, and are always working towards improving this for our customers where possible. Wordfence is installed on 5m+ sites without significant issues so it’s more common to see connections maxing out on shared servers, or ones that are under-provisioned in some way.

I’d be happy to view your diagnostic report from the?Wordfence > Tools > Diagnostics?menu to see if anything stands out. You can send that to us at?wftest @ wordfence . com. Click on?“Send Report by Email”. Please add your forum username where indicated and?respond here after you have sent it.

NOTE: It should look as follows – Screenshot of Tools > Diagnostic > Send by Email

    Thanks,
    Peter.

I’m having this problem as well. Version 8, paid license.

I’ve enabled “Use low resource scanning (reduces server load by lengthening the scan duration)” but I’m still seeing high CPU usage. I’ve had the premium version on a number of our sites for more than a year (same server as now) and have not had CPU usage like this.

It all directly correlates to when Wordfence is running the scan.
