Wordfence Causes Overload on Hostgator Servers

  • Hello!

    I’ve got a message from my hosting support (Hostgator) that my account causes overload on their servers and they paused the work of my sites. The last thing I did was installing Wordfence plugin. After I removed it, they cancelled the restriction. My question is where in the options I can reduce the Wordfence load?

    Second question is about caching. Do Wordfence caching option is better than WP Super cache plugin I’m using?

  • Did they give you any more detail about what calls were causing the issue? Normally they can tell you a little more than “You’re using too many hosting resources”.

    No, they didn’t. But you gave me a great idea:). Before this happen again, I’ll contact them about that previous issue. Will update soon.
