• Hello
I had to deactivate wordfence because it was causing 503 and 500 error, on almost half of http, as seen at host-tracker.com. I troubleshooted disabling all plugins and activating one by one so, could establish that it is wordfence the cause of this. Tried to set the firewall in basic mode but it didn’t solve this, so, had to disable. If there is a way to fix this, I appreciate the help.
    Thanks

  • Same problem. Looking forward to a solution. For me it works with Chrome, but not Firefox or MS Edge.

    Hi @fatimajesus
Can you run a scan successfully? Can you relate these errors to the scan time?

Please check the server error log file within the same time these errors occurred and let me know if you find anything that could be relevant. Your host should help you in locating the server error log file or you can check (Wordfence > Tools > Diagnostics > Log Files).

This sounds like a different issue, so let’s follow up with your thread here.

    Thanks.

    Hello
Thanks for answering. I’ve just ran a scan and no, the errors can’t be related to the scanning itself since the activation of the plugin immediately caused this. No issues shown on scan and neither on diagnostics. But the site was migrated from a platform where I was told that it was conflicting with wordfence. I have another site that was also migrated from there and does not have any issue so far. I did send an activity report by email of the site with this 500 and 503 errors minutes ago. At host-tracker, right now, I did check and the site is no longer generating those errors (but it was, five minutes ago). So, I am going to wait and see, apparently it seems that the issue could have been solved by itself. If it doesn’t , i will update this.

Hi ! I do have (kinda) the same problem. Sometimes my website is very slow and crashes, with an Error 503, but when I deactivate Wordfence, everything’s ok. I started a scan and there is no issue found.

I tried to find a php log or something but no clue…

Hi, same problem today. Suddenly I got a error 500 having Wordfence active. No errors logged but I’m unable to run a scan from plugin because it must to be deactived to have online the site.

It were related to an issue with my provider.

I’m having the same problem. Today I was able to diagnose my plugins by activating each one by one, since my website load time has been extremely slow. I found out it was being caused by Wordfence. I can notice a difference of approx half the load time of my site when the plugin is deactivated.
