I’m using Theme My Login to create a custom login page. My website is set to use portuguese. After install Wordfence, some login error messages (wrong password, for example) are showed in english. If I disable Wordfence plugin, all the messages back to portuguese.

  • I hope Wordfence answers this. It sounds like Wordfence is substituting their own login screen or text for that provided by WordPress core? If so, that’s interesting. I don’t like to think any of my plugins are touching the WordPress login unless specifically set to do so. Or perhaps Wordfence by default pretty much integrates with the WordPress login?

    Hi,

By default WordPress login error message reveals some information regarding the failed login attempt, either reporting that the username doesn’t exist or this isn’t the correct password for this username (which means that the username is correct), if you have this option enabled in Wordfence “Don’t let WordPress reveal valid users in login errors” this error message will be replaced with a generic one that doesn’t reveal such information. Having this message translated was logged in our issues tracker as a feature request before, I’ll add your input on this thread to the ticket we have. Unfortunately, I don’t have an ETA for the update that might introduce this feature, our team evaluates all the request and consider them seriously, designing a roadmap to include bug fixes, intensive testing and introducing new features isn’t an easy task.

    Thanks.
