My website Firecorp1475 was fiercely attacked by hackers.
At a certain stage I saw that certain words looked like hyperlinks,
but it linked nowhere when I clicked on it. It only opened the home page.
Wordfence regularly sent me e-mails of IP’s intending to access the website.
I have NO tecnical or developing knowledge and did not know what it meant.

I received a mail from my hosting company informing me that my website was compromised.

I tried to open my website and it opened a Turkish Company.

I then realised that I have big trouble.

I started blocking the IP’s reported to me by Wordfence.

I received a mail from Google saying that they are going to put a message that
my website has malware to anybody opening my website.

I also received a message from Phising Labs stating that my website refers to a fraudulent
    Bank Website.

Subsequently Wordfence reported all the files that appears to be a problem with the
description what each file does and how it was probably hacked.

I did what Wordfence suggested and when I opened my website judt now it was clear…
All the so-called Hyperlinks was gone and I believe that my website is now clear and
    free from phishing and malware.

I am still on the free version, but I am going to upgrade as soon as I can afford it. The only problem is the exchange rate which
makes it about ZAR 11.00 for $1.

    Thank you Wordfence.

I would like to find out about the following: –

Wordfence is alerting me of about 10 IP’s a day trying to get acces to my WP-Admin.

I block these addresses everyday. Do I keep on blocking, because I have noe 110 blocked IP’s.

What do I do with these, because the more you block, the more wants to get access.

It is also time consuming in blocking these addresses every day.

Make sure you set the lockout time to a high value
    https://docs.wordfence.com/en/Wordfence_options#How_long_is_an_IP_address_blocked_when_it_breaks_a_rule
on options page under firewall rules.
Also, you can set the option to immediately lock out invalid usernames.

The thing is though, you are running a wordpress site. And its the most popular open source blogging site software there is. Like the song goes haters gonna hate, and to parlay that into terms that matter to us, hackers gonna hack. (As an aside, I cannot believe I just quoted Taylor Swift – geeze) And if you run a site, bots will try to get in when you are popular enough for them to see you. The emails we send are just letting you know we are doing our job. As a matter of fact, head over to https://www.wordfence.com/ for a graphical representation of just 5% of all attacks going on right this second. Thats over 9,500 a minute. And the kicker is this is actually a very low number. It serves as a great reminder that the bad guys are out there and we all have to be diligent and watchful.

    Hope this helps.
