    Hello

Is there any way to get the Wordfence dashboard widget for non-Administrator users? I don’t see any such option. I don’t usually login with my WordPress admin account for security reasons (unless I have to change some settings), so I would like to be able to access all stats info with non-admin accounts as well.

    Thanks

    Vijay

  • WF support can chime in here, but IMO, what you suggest would make little sense, indeed…. you absolutely do not want to have non-admin users accessing Wordfence.

Log-in with your Admin account… that’s exactly what it’s for.

Well that may be true generally but there are small website owners who may have two WordPress logins – one admin and one non-admin. The admin login is used sparingly only when there is a need to make any configuration changes or WordPress updates etc., whereas the non-admin login would be used for routine logins to check statistics, logs, etc. It would be helpful to see the Wordfence logs (IPs blocked, login history, etc.) with the non-admin login itself.

For such cases, Wordfence could consider providing a configuration option to enable the dashboard widget for non-admin users. This option would be disabled by default to retain the legacy behavior, but it could be enabled if required. This would avoid the need to frequently use the admin login (security risk!!) just to see the Wordfence logs.

    Hi Vijay,
I want to confirm that currently there is no option like that in the plugin but “allow non-admin users to see the dashboard widget” is on our feature request list (internal reference number: #FB1510), although I’m not sure if this can be seen in one of the plugin’s upcoming releases or not, but all suggestions are evaluated by our dev team and considered seriously.

    Thanks.

Thanks a lot @wfalaa! Appreciate your response.

@wfalaa very happy to hear that!
    Give that request +1

Just actually I have a project where I’d need exactly this feature:
There are some custom user roles and the one that will work from the backend mostly is slightly below admin and really should see the widget information.

Best would be the widget information without the possibility of accessing the WF settings. That would really be a benefit!

    Thanks and best regards
