    Hello,

I created an account on your website to submit a ticket regarding my inquiries, but it is for paid users only and since I have reservations and questions I need answered before spending money on your plugin, I have no choice but to post here in the plugin forum.

I have been using Wordfence on my WordPress installs for a few years now. Recently two of my sites were hacked even though Wordfence was running.

The Wordfence plugin description on www.ads-software.com says:

“The Wordfence WordPress security plugin provides free enterprise-class WordPress security, protecting your website from hacks and malware.”

That does not hold true for two of my sites. On two websites hackers caused the sites to redirect to spam Canadian pharmacy sites, and also used the default cPanel email to send out SPAM which caused us to be blacklisted, rendering us unable to send email or use site contact forms for over a week hurting business.

Further, manual scans with Wordfence did not recognize the malware saying the sites were fine even though another plugin was able to list malware threats and I was able to clean those files up. (screen grabs available).

Working with the web host we were able to clean up the rest of the malicious files from the attack and finally get everything back to operational after days of being down.

Obviously, I would like to do everything within my ability to keep this from happening again (although I thought that was already the case) and looked into buying Wordfence rather than using the free version… however I’m reluctant to spend money on Wordfence when it did not stop the hacks, nor recognize malicious files after the attacks.

Are there any guarantees with the paid version of Wordfence? Does someone from Wordfence clean up hacked sites if using the paid version of Wordfence and the sites get hacked? What assurances can you provide that your plugin is worth paying for and will work to prevent such attacks?

    Thank you.

    ~ Angela

  • I’ve been running Wordfence for several months now but Google is now reporting that I’ve been hacked. I’ve looked through everything on my site and in my database but don’t see any evidence of a hack and wordfence says everything is ok. The only problem I’m having with wordfence is the scan won’t complete. I’ve changed the max execution time for each scan stage to 15 and also to 30 but it still won’t finish. Here’s where it stops https://prnt.sc/b40yrw
