    hi

Hi @flowered, thanks for your message.

I’m interested some more in the “shut down due to error” message. Does this appear in your server’s error logs or somewhere else like the WordPress dashboard?

Can you send a diagnostic report to wftest @ wordfence . com? You can find the link to do so at the top of the Wordfence > Tools > Diagnostics page. Then click on “Send Report by Email”. Please add your forum username where indicated and respond here after you have sent it.

NOTE: It should look as follows – Screenshot of Tools > Diagnostic > Send by Email

    Thanks,

    Peter.

maybe it happens after i enable the two step authentication.

let me tell you that… i’m now noticing that my other website has the same problem too. Wordfence got removed in it too.

    Hi @flowered,

Thank-you for your diagnostic. I have viewed your site and the diagnostic information but am unable to either reproduce the message or find clear issues with configuration or communication errors.

I see that your error log files section is empty, so only your host may have access to these. I recommend reaching out to your hosting support channels as they should have access to the error logs for your site and may be able to shed light on what the exact error causing Wordfence to shut down is. Some hosts have been known to remove Wordfence in rare cases so it’d be good to rule this out as a possibility too.

Let me know what you find out.

    Thanks,

    Peter.

    Hi @flowered,

I’m sorry to hear that you’re not able to gain more information through your host’s support.

You could certainly try a fresh Wordfence installation after a full removal in case there was something wrong in the database that would cause this issue: https://www.wordfence.com/help/advanced/remove-or-reset/

It might be worth trialling that new installation for a while before taking the step of switching hosts or starting from a new WordPress installation. The problem could resolve provided there’s no external factors removing Wordfence as I mentioned before.

    Thanks again,

    Peter.

    hi there
i did a fresh install but after a while the problem returned.
i’m really considering switching a host now if not solved after doing the reset procedure….

    thank you for helping me

    Hi @flowered,

No worries, I’m sorry that we weren’t able to definitively find out whether the host has a policy that would explain this behavior.

If you have any further Wordfence issues in future, by all means start a new topic and we’ll be glad to help out any time.

    Peter.
