• The WF emails with subject “Wordfence activity for <date> on <domain>” have problems on Gmail.

Firstly, the emails show up as blank. The HTML content is not displayed. By going to Gmail’s “Show Original” link, all the HTML is seen, but in the main GMail email window it is blank.

Secondly, the “Recently Blocked Attacks” section of the email contains details such as “Blocked for Social Warfare <= 3.5.2 – Unauthenticated Stored Cross-Site Scripting in query string:” and these contain links to domains like worxforu, tubestore and nimtec. Having these urls in the body of the email triggers GMail’s spam filters, and the mail lands up in the Spam folder.

Request the devs to look into these two issues.

  • Hi @saowp,

For the first issue, HTML content is not rendered in Gmail for messages within the spam folder.

So as long as the email lands in your inbox, the HTML content should display properly.

As for the second one, you may want to whitelist the sender’s email as a lot of the time these technical emails will land in the spam folder.

These emails are designed to be as descriptive as possible, and sometimes it may trigger the spam filter.

I can confirm that even when the email lands in my inbox, it shows up as blank.
