WordFence flagging some issues.

  • I ran WrodFence scan on a site just now and it is flagging issues with the following files?

    * Modified plugin file: wp-content/plugins/instagram-feed/inc/admin/actions.php

    * Modified plugin file: wp-content/plugins/instagram-feed/inc/admin/main.php

    * Modified plugin file: wp-content/plugins/instagram-feed/inc/class-sb-instagram-feed.php

    * Modified plugin file: wp-content/plugins/instagram-feed/inc/class-sb-instagram-post.php

    * Modified plugin file: wp-content/plugins/instagram-feed/inc/if-functions.php

    * Modified plugin file: wp-content/plugins/instagram-feed/templates/item.php

    * Modified plugin file: wp-content/plugins/sassy-social-share/admin/css/sassy-social-share-default-svg-vertical.css

    * Modified plugin file: wp-content/plugins/sassy-social-share/admin/css/sassy-social-share-hover-svg-horizontal.css

    * Modified plugin file: wp-content/plugins/sassy-social-share/admin/css/sassy-social-share-hover-svg-vertical.css

    Can you advise on any steps I should take?

    Only following three warnings are related to this plugin:
    * Modified plugin file: wp-content/plugins/sassy-social-share/admin/css/sassy-social-share-default-svg-vertical.css

    * Modified plugin file: wp-content/plugins/sassy-social-share/admin/css/sassy-social-share-hover-svg-horizontal.css

    * Modified plugin file: wp-content/plugins/sassy-social-share/admin/css/sassy-social-share-hover-svg-vertical.css

    Have you specified any custom logo color in the Theme Selection section at the social share options page in the admin area? If you specify any custom logo color, plugin modifies these CSS files to change the logo color of the social share icons. Because of this the CSS files are different from the original CSS files and WordFence is giving you warning.

    Thanks for getting back to me on those flagged issues. I hadn’t customised the style of the icons but what I did do was delete and reinstall both Sassy Social Share and Smash Balloon plugin and this cleared up the issue.

    I do have other sites where I have customised the social icons so I will note that the file changes with these may get flagged by WordFence.
