I use Wordfence on all my sites, but today visiting one of those, was presented with a message that Wordfence had been deactivated due to errors (paraphrase, but no details provided). When I checked plugins, Wordfence wasn’t there. When I tried to re-install, the installation failed with the message “Installation failed: Destination folder already exists.”

Has anyone else run into this? This site is on WordPress 4.74, using Customizr theme, and is hosted by GoDaddy.

Well, no help here. Seems most likely this happened because of a hosting company action (Go-Daddy, in this case, backup/restore, server moves, etc.). I found an earlier thread of a similar problem from a year ago.

Resolved here by having GoDaddy technician remove Wordfence folder. I was then able to reinstall Wordfence.

    Hi @hptccharge,
