Good morning. I can’t install a Wordfence Free license. I have tried both requesting a new license and deactivating all plugins but I always get this error: We received an error while trying to activate the license with the Wordfence servers: An error occurred while connecting to the Wordfence crawl servers: cURL error 56: Received HTTP code 403 from proxy after CONNECT – An error occurred while retrieving your license information from the Wordfence servers. Please ensure that your server can reach https://www.wordfence.com on port 443.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Hi?@corsifotoverona , sorry to see you’re having problems installing Wordfence.

An error on port 443 means your server can’t see ours so we need to find out why.

Have you tried all of the troubleshooting steps on the following page?: https://www.wordfence.com/help/api-key/#installing-your-free-license-key

I only ask to ensure the common problems have been tried first. You should still have access to the Wordfence > Tools menu to send us a diagnostic report if the link above hasn’t helped, so we can take a closer look at possible communication or configuration problems. You can send that to us at wftest @ wordfence . com. Click on “Send Report by Email”. Please add your forum username where indicated and respond here after you have sent it.

NOTE: It should look as follows – Screenshot of Tools > Diagnostic > Send by Email

    Thanks,

    Mark.

Hello and thank you?Mark for your reply.

I sent the report through Tools I hope it arrived anyway I saved a screenshot of the error, let me know.

Yes, I seem to have checked all the steps described in the link sent
I would also like to add that this is not the first Free license that I have installed: I am a teacher of photography courses and in the last month I have installed another 5 Free licenses with the same email with the same server and with the same hosting from the same computer! So I really don’t understand!

    Thanks

    Enzo

    Hi Mark,

I haven’t received a response regarding the issue I encountered while following the guided procedure you suggested. I have followed the troubleshooting steps listed on the page: https://www.wordfence.com/help/api-key/#installing-your-free-license-key, but the error on port 443 still persists.

I still have access to the Wordfence > Tools menu, so I have sent a diagnostic report to the email address [email protected]. I included my forum username in the indicated section and sent the report via email as shown in the screenshot.

Could you please check the diagnostic report to better understand the communication or configuration issue?

    Thank you for your support.

    Best regards,

    @corsifotoverona

    Hi @corsifotoverona ,

Apologies for the delayed response and thank you for sending the diagnostic report.

It looks like both outbound and inbound connections to and from Wordfence servers are being blocked.  You may need to allowlist our IP addresses, which can be found here: https://www.wordfence.com/help/advanced/#servers-and-ip-range

cURL Error 56 also  suggests an issue with how TLS is being resolved on your host’s end. If you’re comfortable doing so, try to run the following in the Command Line Interface a few times and share the output with your hosting provider for assistance:

    curl -v https://noc1.wordfence.com/

Let me know how it goes.

    Thanks,

    Mark
