    Greetings:

Doing some basic maintenance on a website (ahea.org). I found that Wordfence is not showing in the left menu/sidebar. I looked in the plugins and did not find WF. I looked in the Cpanel file manager and found the WF folder.

I deleted the WF folder. I uploaded the latest WF install file. The upload and install performed as it should. I activated WF when prompted.

HOWEVER, WF does not display in the menu and it does not display in the plugin listings page.

I even deactivated Gutenberg just in case that caused any issues. Gberg is the only new plugin.

So far I have not found anything in the forum to guide me to resolution. Thus, I am seeking input and guidance.

    Thank you…fred

  • Hi @fprasuhn,
Thanks for reaching out. This sounds strange indeed! Can you please check your sites PHP error logs and see if you can find any errors related to Wordfence there? It happens sometimes that a plugin generates an error which causes WordPress to deactivate it automatically.

If you do not have access to your sites PHP error logs you can enable debug mode in WordPress. You can find more information about how to do that here.

Let me know how it goes!

It appears that the hosting company does not permit Wordfence.

    Thank you for your assistance.
