We have a client with heavy disc space usage, and when I poked around today, what I found is a log file called wf-licensing.log located in their wp-content directory. In the case of our customer’s web site, this log seems to be growing by the minute and currently at 691 mb. We need to clear this file — is it safe to delete it? Will it be recreated if we do?

And also, why is it in such heavy use? What is being logged? Can we stop it from growing at an exponential rate?

    Thanks for your help!

I forgot to mention that no other site that we manage has this file, and all are running Wordfence.

    thanks again!

Hello @brattdev and thanks for reaching out to us!

Those logs aren’t related to Wordfence. Looks like they are WebFactory Ltd, which must be where the wf comes from. I see comments in one of their files that the file is used if debugging is enabled. It’s likely that can turn off that plugin’s debugging and remove the file, but you might need to ask the plugin developer about it.

Thank you! I deleted their plugin and the file, and everything is fine. Sorry for the misinterpretation — WF is usually you guys.
