• This is absolutely ridiculous! I use WordFence to help protect my WP Multisite Network and I have it set so that all of the blogs use the settings of the main blog.

    I turned off the email activity summary and it is still unchecked in the WordFence Network settings area.

    However, today I have started receiving an update from every single blog in the network.

    There is no way for me to turn it off for each blog since I am theoretically using the settings for the NETWORK and not individual blogs, and yet the emails keep coming.

    I really can’t believe what a bad job WordFence did with this release. So many sloppy errors with the dashboard, SSL compatiblity issues and now this. How are we supposed to believe that WordFence is truly keeping our sites safe when the level of attention to detail has taken a serious nose dive?

    And at some point, I am sure I am going to get tagged somewhere for sending out too much spam and it is all *your* fault for not being more careful with the activity summary emails and not respecting the “off” setting for the entire multisite network!!!

  • Hi guys
    I am in the same situation. I have turned the option off, turned it back on and asked for 1 an hour, turned it back off – am still receiving one every 3 minutes or so!

    Please help

    Tim

    I’m getting them as well, and from an email addy that i’m not familiar with. Also they are dated for the future??? “Wordfence activity from
    April 20, 2015 to May 4, 2015″ What’s going on??

    Add me to the list. I have gotten one report for every blog on a multisite, even every DESELECTING the option to email reports.

    The plugin has been great at helping us get out of a hack, but the annoyance factor by email right now is set to MAX.

    Agreed. The email content from each blog are identical.

    I think just 1 email per multisite network is enough.

    If you have your own plugin or know how to use your theme’s functions.php file, this line appears to have worked for me. I used it in a custom plugin I use with WP Multisite.

    remove_action('wordfence_email_activity_report', array('wfActivityReport', 'executeCronJob'));

    This will remove all activity report email, so if WordFence fixes this issue, you may want to remove this line of code later on, if you do eventually want to receive some activity reports.

    I have not tested this on any other sites but my one sandbox and my one production site, so please use “at your own risk.”

    HTH

    We’ve been working on this all day. Fix coming soon.

    That would be appreciated, especially because my hack above did not appear to work after all.

    @snowboardmommy – thanks for trying.

    @wfsupport – Please keep us posted. This is a big inconvenience for anyone with a large number of sites.

    Has anyone noticed this problem being resolved on any of their sites? We installed wordpress on our sites 2 weeks ago and have started receiving email summaries after 2 weeks despite the fact that the enable email summary has been unchecked.

    It doesn’t seem to have happened on sites where we manually changed settings, but on sites that we imported settings.
