Hi @chechogr, thanks for reaching out and sorry to see you’re unable to login.
Are you using Wordfence’s 2FA and/or reCAPTCHA features? I have seen this message occur where adding?www
?to the URL manually can help as the WordPress login page doesn’t redirect automatically on wp-login.php. If your browser is caching the wrong version of your URL, trying to sign in again using a private/incognito browser window could give different results. That may not be the case, but thought I’d mention it.
You may also experience issues if you’re using a non-default login page from WordPress or WooCommerce as some of our Login Security features may not detect a modified login flow from a custom plugin/theme login page or modal pop-up correctly.
I’m happy to provide you with instructions on how to get back into your site if nothing seems to be working above. Follow these steps:
- Please use FTP/SFTP — or any file manager your web host provides via their administration panel.
- Look inside the /wp-content/plugins/ directory and rename the wordfence directory to wordfence.bak.
- Once you have logged in to your WordPress admin you can name the folder back to wordfence again.
- Refresh your dashboard and you should be able to see Wordfence Active again. If not, go to the Plugins page and Activate it.
Thanks,
Peter.
