I’m a webmaster at a small two-year college. I’ve been using Wordfence on our website for a bit. However, I’m currently having troubles with it preventing my ticketing plugin (https://tickera.com/) from executing the ticket page. It generates a new page for that purchase after a ticket is purchased. It didn’t use to do this – so something changed but I’m not sure how to set it so it works properly. Turning off Wordfence eliminates the problem. So, I’m sure it’s Wordfence causing it.

I’ve been using the ticketing plugin for a month now to control the numbers of people at our athletic games and this is the first time I’ve had problems with it.

Any ideas where to do to whitelist my ticketing plug so I can keep using Wordfence?

    Thanks for your help.

    Keith

Hi @keithasmith, thanks for your message and I’m sorry to see you’re having some trouble with these plugins working together.

My instincts are telling me that the changes to the ticketing plugin requiring permission to generate a new page are being blocked as potentially malicious actions. You can manually allowlist certain actions if necessary, but we should first try Learning Mode

From the Wordfence Dashboard click on Manage WAF. Then you will see Basic Firewall Options > Web Application Firewall Status. Change the option to Learning Mode. Now attempt to go through the ticket purchase process so that the new purchase page is generated. This will help Wordfence learn that these actions are normal and it will allow them in the future. After you have finished performing the actions, sign in as an admin again and switch the WAF from Learning Mode back to Enabled and Protecting. Now test to see if the ticket purchase process works correctly.

Let me know how you get on.

    Thanks,

    Peter.

Thanks for the suggestion. I will try this out. For some reason, I did not get an email notification about your reply like I normally do so I did not see it till now.

I’ll keep you posted on how it goes. Thanks again.

Yep, worked great. That totally fixed the issue thus far. Just flipped it from learning mode back to Enabled and Protecting and it’s now working correctly.

    Thanks!
