Hi?@eddievet, thanks for your message.
Have you tried starting scans remotely from the Wordfence > Tools > Diagnostics > Debugging Options section? Does the exact same issue occur? There are other scan troubleshooting tips here: https://www.wordfence.com/help/scan/troubleshooting/
If nothing that I’ve suggested there works and you’re on Cloudflare or Litespeed, there can be other configuration requirements to prevent scans from stopping but the best way for me to determine this would be getting a scan log and diagnostic report from you.
If you could do the following steps for me:
- Go to the Wordfence > Tools > Diagnostics page
- In the “Debugging Options” section check the circle “Enable debugging mode”
- Click to “Save Changes”.
- CANCEL?any current scan and start a?NEW?scan
- Copy the last 20 lines from the Log (click the “Show Log” link) or so of the activity log once the scan?finishes?and paste them in this post.
Wordfence > Tools > Diagnostic > Debugging Screenshot
This will help me see exactly what is happening when the scan fails.
Then, can you send a diagnostic report to wftest @ wordfence . com? You can find the link to do so at the top of the Wordfence > Tools > Diagnostics page. Then click on “Send Report by Email”. Please add your forum username where indicated and respond here after you have sent it.
NOTE: It should look as follows – Screenshot of Tools > Diagnostic > Send by Email
Thanks,
Mark.
Hi Peter

- [Jul 13 10:32:07] Got a true deserialized value back from ‘wfsd_engine’ with type: object
- [Jul 13 10:32:08] Scan process ended after forking.
I have noticed that the scan is requesting more memory or some settings may have been set wrongly. Below are the php settings whichI think is best for my project. The reason why I have set these settings is because I am uploading a large data/a huge listings lists which takes few hours to upload. I tried to load the data in bulks but that gave errors. As for now these settings are working just fine for the uploading process but it is failing the scan. Please let me know what I should do in order to get the best of both processes.
Memory_limit 2048M
Max_execution_time 36000
Upload_max_filesize 100M
Post_max_size 200M
Max_input_time 60
Thanks again for the support

Hello Peter
It has been a few days since i last wrote this message. Can you let me know what is the issue?
Hi @eddievet ,
Apologies for the delayed response.
I couldn’t find your diagnostic report. Please try the below instead:
Navigate to Wordfence > Tools > Diagnostic page and then click the "Export" button. Send the txt file to [email protected]. Add your forum username in the subject and respond here once done. Let me know once you have sent the report.
Please try all of our troubleshooting tips centered around this type of error message on your scan log.
https://www.wordfence.com/help/scan/troubleshooting/#scan-process-ended-after-forking?
From the error log,? I also noticed you have high value set for the max_execution_time . Sometimes, a higher max_execution_time value has been found to be detrimental to scan speed. We have seen issues arise when this number exceeds 60, although Wordfence will only attempt to use half of this value by default. don’t have some performance options set.?
Go to your Wordfence > Scan > Manage Scan and locate the “Performance Options” section. Set “Maximum execution time for each scan stage” to 20. For a screenshot of my recommended Performance setting options – Click Here.
Adding “20” for the “Maximum execution time for each scan stage” tells the scan to pause every 20 seconds and start again where it left off, which makes the scan more performance-friendly for some servers. Once done, go to Wordfence > Scan > Scan Options and Scheduling and check to see if the bottom two options in General Options are disabled. It would be best to have those disabled for now (Scan files outside your WordPress installation, Scan images, binary, and other files as if they were executable)
Additionally, confirm that the Scan Option is set to Standard. Be sure to save your changes in case you make any changes here.
Please try running scan with the updated settings and let me know whether you have any issues.
Thanks,
Mark.
