    Hi!
I have wordfence on every website I manage and all is fine except for my own where the alert emails that I receive are not displaying properly at all. I use Corpus theme. This started a few months ago. I waited thinking the next update would fix it but it didn’t.

I also receive many other emails from wordfence in that same email account with no issues and they display perfectly so the issue must stem from the sending point which is my website.

The other websites I receive the same notifications from use other themes such as Avada and Enfold.

    Thanks

    Hi @griffingraffix,

My instinct from the description would be that the theme developer may need to be made aware of this alteration to see if style code is being applied to emails. However, I’m more than happy to take a look if you could please forward a copy of the altered email to wftest @ wordfence . com

Please include your forum username in the subject line and reply here after you’ve sent it to help me locate the email.

    Thanks,

    Peter.

I believe you’re right because I just sent myself an email from the website and it doesn’t display well either so it’s probably not from your end but rather actually from the theme.

I should have checked before bothering you.. my apologies.

I did send you a reply just the same.. thank you kindly

    Hi @griffingraffix,

You have nothing to apologize for at all, I appreciate you sending it over. I can’t tell too much from the example, but there is a chance that your email software (or plugin if you use one for SMTP) is sending HTML emails as a Plain Text content-type if you’re just seeing code like that.

I would expect the theme to potentially be interfering if the emails were coming through styled in an unexpected way, but as it looks like the “Wordfence Activity Report” HTML email source is just being displayed instead of rendered as it should. Some of our emails are plain text such as alerts, but the activity report is expected to be HTML. I’d certainly look towards how they’re being sent out from the affected site.

Sometimes the receiving mail client can be an issue with this too, but if you’re receiving everything correctly from your other sites there’s certainly something more specific happening in the configuration of that one website. It could be worth double-checking that wordpress@yoursite[dot]com is considered a safe source in case the HTML isn’t being rendered by the email client for that reason.

    Thanks again,

    Peter.
