When I attempt to run a wordfence scan now it immediately fails with the message below:

    Scan Failed

The scan has failed to start. This is often because the site either cannot make outbound requests or is blocked from connecting to itself. Click here for steps you can try.

A couple of days ago I was able to run a scan successfully but not I get the above repeatedly. There are no errors in the WF logs and the failure comes very quickly after the scan attempts to run

    Thanks

Hello @tlbyzgen and thanks for reaching out to us!

Sounds like a connection issue back to the site.

Can you send a diagnostic report to wftest @ wordfence . com? You can find the link to do so at the top of the Wordfence Tools > Diagnostics page. Then click on “Send Report by Email”. Please add your forum username where indicated and respond here after you have sent it.

    Thanks!

    Thanks @wfadam

That report has been sent on to you now.

    Thanks for sending those @tlbyzgen

If you could, head over to Wordfence > Tools > Diagnostics > Debugging and enable Start All Scans Remotely, if it is currently enabled, then disable it and SAVE.

Head back over to your Scan page, kill the current scan if its running, and start a new scan.

Let me know what you find!

    Thanks!

Hi @wfadam – yes, I actually had the start scans remotely option running to see if it made a difference. So, this issue is happening whilst I have that option enabled.

    Thanks!

Did that resolve your issue then? Scans working again?

    Thanks!

No, sorry. The issue was seen whilst I had that option enabled. So, with remote scanning I am still getting the issue.

    Thanks

If you disable Start All Scans Remotely and run a new scan, are you seeing the same issue?

    Thanks!

That worked @wfadam – I had that remote scans enabled thinking that was helping!

    Cheers for the support

Great! Sometimes that setting can help or hurt.

Let me know if you run into anything else!

    Thanks again!
