I have noticed on every website where i have wordfence loaded, initial time to load a website is increased up to 3-5 seconds wait before website start loading sometimes even more, i am guessing this has to do with number of attacks, blocked ip’s and database informations wordfence holds.

I have measured the times on websites on the same server.
The DNS response is always the same 20-25ms

Without wordpress: 30ms initial response, 400ms to load a website.
WordPress website with wordfence disabled: 100ms initial response, 600ms to 1s to load a website.
WordPress website with wordfence enabled: 3-5 seconds initial response, 6 to 7s to load a website.

So the initial response is the time it takes server to process files and client waiting for the response.
But is there a way to optimize it somehow so it can be a bit faster?

Hello @jashimili and thanks for reaching out to us!

Can you send a diagnostic report to wftest @ wordfence . com? You can find the link to do so at the top of the Wordfence Tools > Diagnostics page. Then click on “Send Report by Email”. Please add your forum username where indicated and respond here after you have sent it.

    Thanks!

    Hello, thanks for support,

I have sent it from 3 different websites and all of them are on different servers and providers.

    Thanks for sending those diagnostics!

Any way you could get your hands on the PHP error logs for one of these sites as well?

I don’t see anything standing out in the diagnostic to make me think there is a conflict. I want to look over the logs as well.

Send them to wftest @ wordfence . com with subject line ” @jashimili Logs ” and let me know when you have sent them!

    Thanks!

Hi, i can access error logs on 2 of the websites and apache logs on one of them, i can’t access error logs on 3rd website.

I have sent the logs on the mail.

On one of the websites i disabled wordfence and selected option to delete database on deactivation, enabled it again, reduced the load to 2 seconds.

I will monitor that website to see if load time will increase over some period.

That was actually going to be something I suggested. Sometimes I have noticed with some versions of PHP that some of the WF tables will duplicate themeselves. It’s a flaw in the PHP version itself with table management.

By clearing them, it should remove the issue. Monitor it and let me know if the issue comes back.

    Thanks again!
