I had been trying to add a New User but the system kept telling me that the 2 Passwords did not conform. I was also unable to view the Password created nor Generate one.

Once I disabled WordFence the problem was resolved. I am now concerned that if I activate WF any new sign-ups will also not be able to register or may not be recorded correctly as a User. I am using V5.8.3 of WP and had installed a new version of your plugin so both are up to date.

I had noticed having a similar problem on another site I manage but had not related it to WF but on reflection, it seems this problem is not related solely to this one site. I found the answer on another forum with others having a similar problem resolved by disabling WF so it seems to be a common issue.

Hi @adrian33000, thanks for getting in touch!

Wordfence is fully tested for compatibility with the latest version of WordPress and this is not an issue we’re seeing come up across our sizeable customer base so I would start by suspecting a plugin or theme conflict.

Wordfence should not be interfering if you’re adding a user from the WordPress admin dashboard, so would I be right in saying the users are being added from the public-facing side of the site when this occurs? Are there any user management plugins involved or are you using the WordPress default method of registration?

Try disabling all plugins except for Wordfence and changing your theme to a default like Twenty Twenty-One. Do you still experience the same issue? If not, there is a conflict elsewhere that can be found by re-enabling the plugins and theme one-by-one until the problem reoccurs. Sometimes our Javascript can be stopped from running if there are other errors on the page caused by these conflicts. This will usually show as red text in your browser console. Feel free to paste errors to me here, or take a screenshot and share it with me using a service like Snipboard so we can try to troubleshoot it for you.

Let me know what you find out.

    Thanks,

    Peter.
