Wordfence updated without permission!!

    In WF Options, I have “Update Wordfence automatically when a new version is released?” unchecked, to say again UNCHECKED. Updated anyway!

    What in the world? Did this really happen!? If so, huge problem for me as I’m very careful about so called “updates” breaking my website, and prefer to trigger updates manually when I have time to trouble shoot if they’re actually a “downdate.”

    Please let me know. Is it possible this is a bug or something, or another setting I’m missing?

    I have something really strange going on, perhaps having to do with something my host did with server. If I ever figure it out I’ll post here but it’s probably above my paygrade. Let’s just say that I did go into the Wordfence folder on my server and I DID see that my customized core Wordfence file had been written over by the update, and I DID go into my admin and see the update notification had gone away. I think went back, and the update pending notification had returned! Crazy. I’ll mark this as resolved and spend some time messing around on server to see if I can make any sense.
