• I need to vent — but I’ll make it short!

Managing a WordPress site — hosted in GoDaddy. Both Wordfence and UpDraftPlus had been working great when I was building the site. Now that the site has gone live there are issues! Three headliners…

GoDaddy — shared hosting, no help for WordPress users.

Wordfence — last update with Firewall function, will not allow completion and shows a /var/chroot/home/content/protect.php issue. The site has a File Manager, no cPanel. I cannot locate a public_html link, etc., etc. etc.

UpDraftPlus — will not complete backups to Dropbox account, just dumps them into back end of website. GoDaddy is not reporting any log errors. Suggests I manually move files from GoDaddy to my computer, and then to DropBox — UpdraftPlus continues to hold GoDaddy responsible.

Done wrestling — can anyone suggest solid solutions!? I’d like to move site to another host, but client does not want to at this point– but if it is the only real solution, I’ll move it in a heart beat!

    Happy evening to all!

  • I’m also using GoDaddy’s shared hosting with both of these plugins (in 3 sites) and it’s been working smooth for years, so moving might not be the only solution.

Unfortunately, I don’t have a fix but did you contact Wordfence about this? Also try to create a new WordPress installation and see if these plugins work there.

Hope you find a solution. ??

Yes — plugins work fine in various other sites — all of which have a different host.

That’s a weird issue. Sorry but I don’t have any other solution.
