  • Thanks for reaching out.

The wordfence_lh URL’s should not be indexed, as they typically are just hits that Wordfence will detect as Human Traffic to the site. It’s possible that your website does not serve the wordfence_lh link correctly. It should be serving an empty page. However, sometimes themes use the WordPress template redirect hook incorrectly which results in all requests with a query string end up serving the full contents of the page. This would cause Google to think there is a full copy of your page under that URL.

Try to visit those links to see if you get the empty blank page or it redirects to your homepage. If you’re being redirected to your home page, you will want to reach out to your theme developer with this issue.

    Mia,

You did not read the post correctly, and WF Support is providing the same answer for 2 years. I have also hundreds of this stupid URL in my GSC. The URL gives an empty page as it should.
Please get rid of this URL redirect, or provide a way so that Google will not index these URLs.

This is ongoing for years now and there is still no valid solution from Wordfence.

    Thanks,

    Didier.

@swissspaceboy I totally agree. Should be fixed ASAP! I’ve got the exact same problem.

I don’t know why they don’t want to fix this. WF is adding an extra URL in our pages for their live tracking, and this gets catched by Google of course. I installed other live tracking tools, and I did not have this extra URL in my pages.

I have planned to block these URLs via my robots.txt file. Googlebot will not be fetching these URLs in the first place. Wordfence could do it too on my behalf I think (not sure that they can inject code in the dynamic robots.txt file).

Hi, same issue here, Google crawling, not indexing hundreads of urls with wordfence_lh=1&hid=randomnumbers… and the number of urls is going up everyday and they don’t redirect to the homepage and get response 200. theme: generatepress. the issue started in december 2022 and current wordfence version 7.8.2 hasn’t solved the problem yet.

Have any of you found a solution? thanks

@noahnochill … Resolved? Is not resolved!!!

Add these in your “robots.txt” file and your problems are gone

    Disallow: /?wordfence_lh=*

    Disallow: /?wordfence_lh=1&hid=*

    Disallow: /?wordfence_lh=*&hid=*

This is also an issue for my websites. It hasn’t been resolved in years.

Adding more bulk to my .htaccess file isn’t the solution, it’s a bandage.

I’m looking for an alternative to this junk right now as I’m sick of the companies attitude. Shrugging us off like this.
