WordPress 2.0.2 feed issue

    I done a fresh install from wordpress 2.0.2. After that, I’ve tested all feeds form my weblog: https://zabazabaz.com/blog/ , and I receive some messages from these validators apps:

    I’ve tried to correct these files:

    wp-rss.php
    wp-rss2.php
    wp-atom.php

    without any result. Do you have any idea to solve this issue?

  • out of the box install? no mods? no plugins?

    your theme output looks somewhat bad. the atom feed I looked at, looked like it had a blank line at the top (which might be an issue), didn’t actually ‘end’ (like generation stopped), the post entry content had extra html embedded that looked like part of the index/theme code, and the feed ended with some javascript advertising thing.

    If you custom-modded any feed files, put them back to originals. Turn off plugins. Then look at the output source yourself — the RSS xml formats aren’t that different from HTML, there should be starting and ending tags for parts of the document, etc.

    Hello davidchait!

    This install is totaly out of the box. I’ve noted this black line at the top. I’ve tried to remove it whitout any result.

    I’ve done another clean install of wordpress 2.0.2 in the server and in my desktop and:

    1) I’ve search in the source for a way to remove the blank line. I didn`t find it.

    2) All plugins are desactivated;

    And they have the same error in these feeds. Do you have any idea to solve this problem?

    I’m having the same problem with my feeds. My page at blog/feed/ is totally blank.

    I’ve follow instructions from davidchait and I find the problem.

    I’m using godaddy free hosting, and they put a banner on the top of site/blog. These script corrupt my feed creating a blanck line on top of rss feed.

    I’m in contact whith goddady support to find a way to solve this issue.

    End of story: I’ve talk to Godaddy support and they don’t make anything to solve this issue. They only suggest to upgrade my account :(. Well to kill this question. Ive installed another blog system: Plog (actualy Life Type) to comprove my teory. And It happening again.

    Comprovate: The problem is a banner generator from Goddady. ??

    I just want to say that I too had the same issues but im not at godaddy hosting. I simply had to upgrade the version of my blog through fantastico and Voila’ my feeds were working again.
    Just thought Id share as this worked for me ??
