WordPress 2.5 and stats plugin

I’m having a similar problem. I installed the WordPress.com Stats 1.2 plugin on my site (WP 2.5) recently and it is working great with one big exception. One page in particular is getting a crazy amount of hits. Where Google Analytics says the page has 80 hits on April 2, WordPress Stats says it got 1665 hits. This isn’t just a one day thing, it’s happened every day since installing the plugin. The hit count for the entire blog is similar to what Google Analytics says, so far it appears just this page is way off (at least it’s the most obvious error). Help!

What are the links to the problem pages on your site? The only way to debug what’s going on is to look at the output and to see what we can see.

I’m also having a problem with the stat plugin. I don’t get many hits on my blogs. They’re mostly for family and friends. So I wasn’t real surprised when the stats plugin said I had 0 visitors. However, I have a new comment from 4/2/08 and it still says I’ve had no visitors. I know it’s only 1, but shouldn’t it show up?

I am also experiencing strange things with WordPress.com Stats after upgrading to WordPress 2.5. One article is getting “all” the views and suddenly very few articles get views. But referer-links tell me that I have views on more articles than WordPress.com Stats indicates.

I reiterate, telling us about a problem with stats without actually giving us the links to your websites is pointless. We cannot answer your questions without seeing the code it’s producing.

The WordPress.com stats plugin produces output that makes visitors browsers pull from a site on wordpress.com. Part of that javascript that it produces passes along the post number. Without seeing that script and seeing what’s going on, we cannot help you.

I use the wordpress.com stats plugin version 1.2 on my sites. It works fine with 2.5.

No one else noticed anything strange with WordPress.com Stats after upgrading to WordPress 2.5?

It appears to be a problem with the recent posts widget. If you remove that, the problem should go away.

I’ll investigate further and see about a fix.

I have upgraded to WordPress 2.5 and installed the WordPress stat plugin.
But I can’t see the stat page, each time he ask for “username” and “password”. So I type the same as the admin access. It should work but I got “ERROR: Incorrect password.”
What can I do…?

The WordPress.com Stats username/password is the username/password for your account on WordPress.com. That’s where you got your API key for Akismet and WordPress.Stats.

Normally access to your wordpress blog (downloaded from www.ads-software.com) should not be the same as your login/password for WordPress.com.

After logging in at https://www.yourwebsite/wp-admin, scroll down to your stats, try to login there. If you can’t, click on the lost password. Enter your email and WordPress.com will mail you your password.
