Just decided to check out WordPress 2.7 RC1. I like it, but for some reason the Dashboard doesnt display properly for me in FF3 on a Mac running OSX Leopard. It works fine in Safari on that same system. And it works fine on Windows XP in FF3. I have cleared my cache/cookies and turned off Adblock, still no luck. Check out the image to see what I mean:

Anyone else have this problem? If I close the sidebar everything is fine, but I prefer to keep it expanded. But when I do, everything goes to the bottom.

  • I have this same problem on my PC viewing with FF 3.0.4, it views fine with IE. You have to scroll way down beneath the fold to see the main table contents. It seems to be a tables issue?

Thats so weird, because on my PC in FF 3.0.4 it displays fine. My problem is FF 3.0.4 on the Mac =\

Yep, it’s the same thing for me, FF3.0.4 on XP. I also tested it on Chrome, and it worked ok.

I was using RC1-10015 and just updated to RC1-10026 and have not experienced these issues. I am also running this on an XP machine, and tested it in IE7, Chrome, and Safari for PC without this issue.

Me wonders if this is a font size issue. What is your display resolution and how large is your font size set to?

Genius! Since my iMacs resolution is 1650×1050 I increase the font size 1 notch over “normal”. Putting it back to the default size fixed my problem! Guess I’ll just have to get used to the smaller fonts, not a big deal, Im glad its working now. Thanks!

Same problem, latest version of OS X Leopard, latest Firefox – all dashboard contents way down off bottom of screen. No fiddling with resolutions or font sizes fixes the issue, and everything looks just fine in Safari (for once, surprisingly). Even closing all sidebar tabs doesn’t make the right-hand content budge.

    Hi,
i think its a problem with the font size and fluid layout – easy to fix:
Go to wp-admin css global.css and there to the id: #wpbody-content
change the 100% to 99% and you are happy
(alternativly you could remove the width of id #adminmenu .. but i guess there is a reason for it)

FernD, thanks so much! That’s resolved it for me. Thing is, will this need to be done with RC2 and final version? Or do you think it will be incorporated given it seems to be a simple fix?

Changing the minimum font-size worked for me too. Thanks!

I have problems with layout too, as I posted here https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/222289?replies=4#post-916315

if anybody with acces to the code is reading this it will be fixed in RC2 (you won’t see any difference in layout for other browser..) – so in theory this post is resolved (somebody could set it..) – is there a way to tell the wp team things like that?

Upgraded to 2.7-RC2 and still not working… Come on!

As reported by brunomb, problem is with Firewall as reported at:
