WordPress 2.8 with MAMP

I have WordPress installed locally using MAMP and can’t use some of the features, such as the new widget page. When I attempt to drag the widgets to and from the sidebar, I only end up highlighting the page. The widget doesn’t move.

Not sure if it’s an AJAX problem or what, but I just need clarification.
