• Hello,

    A little frustrated with 2.9.1 upgrade. I now am unable to insert images anywhere on my blog using the Image Widget plugin.I am able to insert static linked images from another websites. (https://newhottopics.com)I am able to see the images in the Media Library. I am able to upload images to the Media Library. I am able to select them to be shown. But when I click save it reverts back to the description text. I have checked to make sure the upload path is set to default in WordPress dashboard.

    Any help would be great.

    So nobody else is having this problem?

    Yeah Im having the same problem after upgrade to 2.9.1, except Im not even able to link to external URL’s

    Does anyone know if there is work being done to release 2.9.2 to fix this issue?

    I wish I could answer the question on a released fix. Until then I keep try different things including the permissions on the folders where the photos are stored on my hosting server. I wish one of the Moderator’s could look into this issue. It is becomming a common one once I look around the WordPress forum.

    I’m having a similar problem – I can upload images but can’t access them. when I look into the back end, the permissions are set to 640 – I can change them manually using cpanel, but have to do this with each batch of uploads – how and where do I change this so the permissions are set to 644 automatically on upload?

    I am not sure it is a permissions issue. For the reason that I have went into the permissions on each batch of uploads and each picture and changed the permissions to allow Read/Write or 644 to test. It still defaulted back to the required description text that the Image Widget requires before you can insert. The problem is with the Image Widget and that It requires a discription tag instead of just using the photo or file name as the discription. Then instead of displaying the photo it defaults back to displaying the the discription. There was a plugin update yesturday that I had hoped would solve the problem. But the photo not displaying and the discription is still there. Hope someone can fix this soon.

    anybody have any joy with this yet?
    i cant upload any images at all – via the image link or manually (it wont let me toggle between Visual or HTML, is stuck on visual).. cant edit permalink URL’s either, and loads of other stuff

    can i download 2.8 again please?

    Using wordpress 2.9.1 I have a similar issue, I can’t click the insert into post image it just reloads the flash GUI for images. I can however inset gallery which shows the pictures just fine! Anybody help with this?
    out of frustration I changed my whole wordpress folder in to 777 permissions to see if that would help…no luck at all.

    Also note that when I click on insert post, nothing happens except the image is added to the gallery

    all right. i had the same problem. tried every fix i could find, to no avail. just wanted to let everyone how i got it working. my hosting company had a custom cpu controlling (throttling) script and once they disabled it everything worked as it should. hope this helps someone.

    //edit out
