    PLEASE HELP.

The people in charge of es.www.ads-software.com have made a big stupid mistake and no one is doing anything about it.

The version published as 3.1.1 is actually ‘3.1.2-alpha’, Its already giving a lot of problems.

Please no one is doing anything about it, the wrong file is still published, and people are updating their websites with it.

I have already 20 sites with problems because of this.

    Please help us doing something.

If this problem is not addressed, I will talk to Leo Laporte on national radio and let him know what is happening. He will love to know this, remember he promotes Squarespace.
Please I love WordPress, and I have been promoting it to all my clients and in my country, but things like this just make it impossible to speak well. I have made all my clients switch from Joomla and Drupal, now they are asking why this is happening.

This was already published on Twitter and Facebook.

    When you open the version file ou will see: $wp_version = ‘3.1.2-alpha’;

    Same problem, Dutch..

    any notice guys?

    Hey all —

We’re going look into this mistake and aim to prevent it in the future, but rest assured, a download that is marked with the version 3.1.2-alpha is stable (even more stable) than 3.1.1. These packages at most have a single extra bug fix in them.

    Also, really, threats? And name-calling?

    Cross-referencing: https://wppolyglots.wordpress.com/2011/04/11/otto42-gave-me-a-heads-up-that-some/.

Again, there are no issues with builds marked 3.1.2-alpha. While unconventional, if you’re having issues, it’s not a bug that wouldn’t also be in 3.1.1.

this is great a kind lame answer. and we were expecting more?

this is great lame answer after 4 days, without a apology, and the most important stuff………. where is the solution? did you change the download file, did you block the download or the update?

@andrew Im not really sure about what you say because I read in “ayudawordpress.com” that someone was saying that the is a PHP memory issues, that are not present in the WP 3.1.1EN release. Im not really sure what is happening. anyway I install 3.1.1en and them I add the ES language Pack.

    this is amazing.

the spanish user are now the guinea pigs? lab rats?

    alejandro.

I upgraded from the spanish version and it did move to 3.1.2 and I can attest to the fact that it uses the same if not less memory (albeit very slight) than my other english wordpress sites. There is no issue, just relax guys….

    alejometal:

I apologized, in Spanish, in the original thread. Pardon for posting here as soon as possible before I finished investigating what happened.

I didn’t see this thread until now. There are appropriate ways to contact the development team and the translation teams, and a few threads scattered throughout these forums might not always be brought to the attention of the proper individuals. There are many moderators who, if they saw this, would have alerted me or another developer immediately.

The solution will be to re-build the ES download package with 3.1.1. I will inquire with that language team as to the status of this. That said, and this is very important, there is no difference between 3.1.1 and 3.1.2, in terms of memory or anything else. Literally the only difference is the version string.

Any problems supposedly being had with 3.1.2 are indicative of the logical fallacy called “post hoc, ergo propter hoc” (after, therefore because of it), also known as correlation without causation.

No, Spanish users are not guinea pigs. It’s amazing I even need to say that.

2 Moderators read and post in the thread 5 DAYS AGO. “lonchbox”, “Luis Rull”, “David: ha habido un error en la subida de la versión en espa?ol. Creo que la están resolviendo.” instant solution: ANY (like block or remove the update and the download).

this is what Im talking about.”instant solution”.

    Alejandro.

    anyway that’s all

WordPress 3.1.1-es_ES now reflects the proper version string.

    This thread is now resolved.

Andrew, thank you, I noticed the correct version already on the server.

I was very concerned, because I do work on the security field, and I understand that an alpha version, could containing testing code that can become a security breach (correct me if I am wrong).

I updated all my sites, they are working fine now, sorry for feeling left alone by the Spanish team, but I have over 100 client sites, and all of them are running on a particular wordpress theme framework and it started to behave erratically with the new version (only 20 affected – first batch).

I feel more confident working with the production version (We trust on you guys).

    Thank you for your time.
