• Is anyone lese having HUGE issues with WordPress 3.2 and IE9. My login screen style looks strange as is the styling within the main admin. No content is showing within the main area at all.

  • No – it’s not. Is this happening when using Twenty Eleven?

Both TwentyTen and TwentyEleven. The front end of TwentyEleven doesn’t even show up in IE9.

Well, the bad new for you is that the front end of the current theme (Twenty Eleven) at that link works fine for me in IE9. There’s certainly nothing in either Twenty Eleven or Twenty Ten that forces IE into compatibility mode. and given that I can view the site without any problems, that would seem to rule out your server as the culprit – which just leaves your browser/machine.

OK, that’s good news in a way. I just need to find out what the hell is going on with my copy of IE9 (and the guy’s sitting opposite me). Grrrrr, there’s always something with IE!!!

Oh – are you behind a corporate firewall?

There’s a firewall here but nothing would stop anything like this surely?

I wouldn’t rule it out. I’ve know corporate firewalls do some pretty funky things to incoming files. Have you tried accessing the site from home?

I’m going to try that in a sec. Will let you know the outcome.

Bad news, it’s doing exctly the same on my PC at home!!

Works for me in IE9. The graphic of your dashboard shows a plugin? I know you said you had none installed.

Please check to see if you have the latest Java installed, https://java.com/en/download/testjava.jsp

I can duplicate your dashboard. Please go to screen options in the upper right corner and turn on what you want to see. If they are all off you will get exactly what is in the graphic you posted.

[Edit] I can see you don’t have that button. Sorry.

Java is running. That plugin has since been removed, it was just the default Askimet plugin. The screen tab isn’t even appearing. As i’ve said, it is fine in every other browser so doubt it is an option in WordPress. I have tried it on 3 PC’s now and all of them force in compatibility view. Damn IE9!!!!

I have been running 3.2 for sometime now on my sites and have not been forced into compatibility mode. Nor was I with yours.

What is happening on the back end has nothing to do with IE9 but is a conflict with or not loading a javascript.

Does IE8 not rely on the same thing then?
