I have just updated to 3.4 and have noticed something really weird when I create new Pages. If I create a page and make it a parent the new page works fine. however if I create a new page and assign a page parent in page attributes then when I go to view the page it automatically defaults to the home page and I can not edit it.

Has any one else had this issue?

If so are there any recommendations for fixing this issue.

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    Hi Esmi,
    Thanks for the response.
Yes I have done all of the above and that’s why I am posting in the forum. It is a really weird bug I think?

It’s not a bug as it’s specific to you. Can you replicate the problem using the Twenty Eleven theme with all plugins deactivated?

hmmm I think I have managed to fix it. I altered the permalink structure and changed it back to what it was and now it seems to be fixed.
    Very weird
