• Earlier today I updated to 3.41 and was instantly locked out of my admin panel. I have followed the directions from this forum to the best of my ability but still can’t seem to get into the admin panel. Please help.

    Thanks

  • Try:
    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme by renaming your current theme’s folder inside wp-content/themes and adding “-old” to the end of the folder name using FTP or whatever file management application your host provides.

    resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin.

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of WordPress.

    – running the upgrade manually via wp-admin/upgrade.php

    I assume I should be hitting overwrite when I re-upload these files?

    Ideally, you should delete the old copies before you upload the new versions but you could try just over-writing them.

    I now have this error when I try to get into my admin panel.

    Warning: require_once(/home/content/t/a/l/talesfromthpit/wp-load.php) [function.require-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/content/t/a/l/talesfromthpit/html/admin.php on line 30

    Fatal error: require_once() [function.require]: Failed opening required ‘/home/content/t/a/l/talesfromthpit/wp-load.php’ (include_path=’.:/usr/local/php5/lib/php’) in /home/content/t/a/l/talesfromthpit/html/admin.php on line 30

    I think you missed some files when you were uploading.
