    I cannot access a new subsite dashboard. Using a fresh install of WordPress 3.5 and everything else seems to be working related to multisite setup. My .htaccess file and my wp-config file has the exact same format as sassafrascal’s. (see previous thread on this topic)

    I tried to add AllowOverride All to my .htaccess and it breaks the whole site.

    Feeling very desperate so if anyone has any no ideas, please let me know. Also, I still have this in my wp-config file but have no idea if it’s affecting anything:

    * WordPress Database Table prefix.
    *
    * You can have multiple installations in one database if you give each a unique
    * prefix. Only numbers, letters, and underscores please!
    */
    $table_prefix = ‘wp_’;

  • I had the same problem. It was a fresh install of WP3.5 and done wildcard DNS support.Created Multisites (subdomain).But could not able to access the subsites’ dashboard.

    Tried everything, but didn’t work. Finally contacted my host, Hostgator-India, they instantly settled the issue. They said, it was a Wildcard DNS record problem.

    If your site is subdomain multisite, contacting your host would be the better choice.

    If it’s a sub folder multisite, sorry..I am not sure..

    Just want to share…

    Thanks.

    I found someone who fixed the same issue we are having – I tested it and it works!

    I hope this gets things up and running for you again. Here is the post –

    cbouchard, post a copy of your .htaccess and let me know the directory your wordpress installation is located in, I think I might know your issue.

    @sassafrascal – Sweet Success! Thanks so much for sending me that link – it did work! Hopefully this will help all those others struggling as well.

    I am having this issue with GoDaddy… No help from them to solve the problem.

    I have tried any number of solutions that are on this forum, none have solved my issue.

    WP 3.6 MS installed in a folder under root (html). Domain established to that folder. WP is installed in that folder and enabled with Subdirectories. All installed with the GoDaddy code snippets for .htaccess and WP-Config.

    Once a subdirectory site is established and an attempt to access the dashboard, the following error is returned.

    Internal Server Error

    The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

    Please contact the server administrator and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

    More information about this error may be available in the server error log.
    Apache Server at mydominnme.com Port 80

    I have tried a variety code and have modified WP-Index to reference the folder under root. It is either that error or the redirect error.

    Any assistance is appreciated.

    Sorry..typo WP 3.5.1
