• Hi all,

My site timed out and crashed when I did an auto update, may have been because I didn’t disable the plug-ins? Not sure what version of WordPress I was on before, last update was mid Oct 2012. My site still looks fine but I get this message when I try to log in to my dashboard:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function get_taxonomies_for_attachments() in /websites/123reg/LinuxPackage22/ni/ce/ly/nicelyturnedout.com/public_html/wp-admin/menu.php on line 67

    The site:
    https://www.nicelyturnedout.com/

123 Reg advised me to do a manual update following these steps precisely:
    https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Updating_WordPress#Manual_Update

I changed the names of the plug-ins as advised, but this only led to my front end producing an error message too:
Fatal error: Call to a member function register_handler() on a non-object in /websites/123reg/LinuxPackage22/ni/ce/ly/nicelyturnedout.com/public_html/wp-includes/media.php on line 944

I also tried resetting my password on 123’s advise but no joy ??

I’m scared to re-upload my back up files and SQL as I’ve found it so messy before and can’t open the SQL file to check it’s ok.

    Can anyone help please?

    Thanks!
    Hannah

  • Try:
    – switching to the default theme by renaming your current theme’s folder inside wp-content/themes and adding “-old” to the end of the folder name using FTP or whatever file management application your host provides.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin.

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of WordPress. Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folder before uploading the new ones.

    – running the upgrade manually via wp-admin/upgrade.php

You need to complete all of the steps before your site can possibly be fixed.

    try Manual Update

Make sure you backup everything (including your database) before doing any actions, just in case.

    Thanks for your speedy responses,

I’m getting the error message ‘No Archives Found’ when I try to unzip my database back up. I exported it from Php My Admin as per the instructions in 123 support. Is there any way to rescue this or have I lost my database? The fact that the front end of the site is still working gives me hope!

    Thanks
    Hannah
