• There appears to be an issue using this plugin with the latest version of WordPress (3.6). When updating the content of a document and previewing the changes, the preview does reflect the changes made in the editor.

Also when clicking the Update button to save the changes after previewing the article, it throws you to the preview url and the changes are lost.

There appears to be a couple of other quirks under WordPress 3.6:

    • Each time a post is saved empty paragraph tags are appended after each block element. Despite having config.enterMode, config.autoParagraph and config.fillEmptyBlocks configured properly.</i>
    • Intermittently Add media does not add selected media object into the editor. This I cannot consistently produce, it appears to be random behaviour.

I’m having some of the same issues as Lee – no preview, or preview hangs, and then you lose the changes.

Is anybody actively supporting this plugin anymore? Given the fact that the tinyMCE is so very limited, and that every other editor alternative I’ve found is either no longer supported or has issues with a theme I’m using, CKEditor is the only alternative.

Having recently arrived from the worlds of Joomla and Drupel, I’m at a loss understanding why there isn’t more interest and support for better editors – especially in a CMS which was designed for blogging and is still focused on heavy text sites.

I am also having the issues. The first post was raised 2 weeks ago and there is no reponse. Does this mean that CKEditor is no longer supported.

I too have wasted days on this problem thinking that it was a theme problem

CKEditor does not work in WP6 where is the fix?

Just for clarity – it’s not CKEditor (which is developed as a web editor which can stand alone or be integrated into CMSes) that isn’t working – it’s the WP integration which needs to be updated to work with WP 3.6.

While the fine folks who have developed and supported the WP integration have done a great job through 3.5.2, I hope that I get to express my appreciation for them again once they’ve updated it (and hopefully they’ll have included the latest release of CKEditor inside the new version).

So instead of complaining, perhaps we can put a positive spin on our pleas to the brilliant folks who’ve already put so much good work into it.

CorW, that thread hasn’t resolved the original poster’s problem, plus I went through similar steps and it hasn’t resolved mine. I do not believe there is a solution available to the general WP community, although I’m happy it worked for you.

Have any of the devs popped up? I’d love to thank them for the work they’ve done this far, and to encourage them to continue to support CKEditor for WP.

I’ve narrowed the issues down to this error:

TypeError: 'undefined' is not an object (evaluating 'c.onSubmit.add')

Seems to be a jQuery compatibility problem. I’m guessing the main ckeditor.js will need some moderate rewrites to correct it.

    Hi everyone,

If you are interested in having this extension updated, your help is really needed! Developing CKEditor itself takes already a lot of time and we – the CKEditor team – are unable to maintain this addon properly, unfortunately.

If you are a PHP/JS developer, know WordPress well, you should have enough skills to handle CKEditor For WordPress extension development. On my side I can offer you help in case of any questions about CKEditor, but I’m unable to code.

If you send me some working patches, I’d be happy to commit them as well as I’ll be happy to add you to the list of Committers later.

If anyone is willing to help, please contact me directly:
