WordPress 3.9 – Can't save drafts or publish posts when editing existing posts

  • Is anyone else having the issue that I am? Since updating to WP 3.9 a few days ago I am having issues with saving drafts (the button to save the draft never turns active) and also am unable to click the publish button as it never turns active. On existing posts I can from time to time do this and it seems to be selective when I am allowed to click save draft or publish and I have yet to find a pattern or reason for cause.

    Also like everyone else I was really peeved to find that my TinyMCE editor was basically blanked out and like everyone else I tried all the tricks and none of them worked so I am having to settle and quite unhappily mind you, for a far sub-par editor that I hate.

    I’m going to vent now. Whoever is running your I.T. department needs to go back to school and brush up on what user acceptance testing means. No one could have tested this, it’s just not possible because this was a nightmare release. I worked in product development for a major corporation for 15 years and this is so beyond acceptable it would be laughable if it weren’t so enraging.

  • I disabled maxblog icons plugin, this made it work. I think that maxblog fixed it and an upgrade might help.

    Shoot, maybe I should download a plug-in, and then disable it. I currently have no plug-ins. I deleted them all about a year ago.

    Well, there was an update last night to version 3.9.1, but I’m still dead in the water. The site is now officially broken. It’s a shame too. I really like WordPress. I don’t want to start all over again with an inferior knockoff of WP, but I don’t have a choice at this point. Since it’s a free product, I think this is the extent of the support I can get (posting on this forum and not really progressing on this issue). Oh well.

    Oh, and I also added the following to the wp-config.php file.

    define(‘WP_MEMORY_LIMIT’, ’96M’ );

    Still no luck.

    I have the same problem with nothing saving, changes to widgets, posts, plugin settings, everything refreshes the relevant page with appropriate success messages but no changes actually occur and updated content (such as widget text) is returned to it’s original state.

    I’m having the same problem, and in addition I’m struggling to upload photos also. Occassionaly it works but again there’s no rhyme or reason to why or when, but it’s really frusting. I’m not tech savvy so I’m struggling to understand how to try and fix the problem. I don’t think I have any plug ins and it was problem free a couple of weeks ago.
