WordPress 4.8 and W3 total cache plugin

  • Hi!
    I was using W3 total cache plugin with WordPress version 4.7.5. One day I had an alert to upgrade WordPress to version 4.8 and without checking the compatibility of various plugins installed including W3 total cache, I upgraded the WordPress. I noticed my site loading time got increased.
    I was forced to remove this plugin and install a different caching plugin which is not so effective.
    What is the way out now – Should I downgrade the WordPress to 4.7.5, if yes, what is the procedure? or I should wait for the new release of this plugin tested for WordPress 4.8.
