• I need to change all of the “images” photo’s on our site.
I can upload the file, however it shows as a grey box.
When I select edit image it appears, yet the images will not show on the site.
    What to do?
I need to get this process completed this week for the owner.

I have noticed that for the last six months help questions/topics go unanswered; hoping WordPress is actually going to start helping it’s clients/customers again.

Yes I have deactivated everything; multiple times (one at a time) and deactivated everything and re-activated one at a time.
I have the Twenty Sixteen Theme

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Images are showing up fine.

I would worry more about the site’s design. If you let customer’s see that site they may think twice about calling you.

Gee thanks for stating the obvious, the owner and I both know that there are many issues with the site and would love to change them.
Problem is we have paid several “Web Designers” to change/fix problems with the site, only for more problems to be created and NOTHING being changed that they were hired for.
I am not a coder/program/designer and I do not want to be.
I just want to get this site so that it is presentable and where the owner can easily make minor changes to text and add/delete photo’s/images.
I am in a place where internet access is sporadic at best and I can only count on one-two hours of access at a time when I do get a connection.
Every time I have a problem or question that I post on the forums, I get snarky comments and/or told>
Disable the plugins and reactivate them one at a time
    Activate the twenty sixteen theme
Switch to the latest versions of WordPress
    etc..
    etc…
Yes I know that the photos/images which were uploaded prior to version 4.7 are visible
    However new ones are not.
I am tired of my friend being taken for a ride by Web Designers, so we do not want to pay anyone else to screw things up worse, last year the site was down for 8 weeks because the person we hired changed everything and locked us out.
So yes I do understand that you are a volunteer and so are the other moderators:
YOu all need to realize that many of the people using WordPress are in the same boat as me>
We are not programmers/Web Designers or that ilke
We are people stuck with managing a site and just want something simple to work with to get a job done at a minimum of expenditure.
So when I do get internet access, I want to quickly get on the site make the changes that have been requested by my friend the owner and then go about the things that I have expertise in.

Ok, I understand. But you also need to understand that the problems are RARELY with WordPress. Most of the questions on this forum are from people who have NO idea what they are doing trying to accomplish something that some of us went to school for. The questions are all the same and due to inexperience and lack of knowledge.

Most of the time a plugin or theme is not compatible with the most current version of WordPress and those diagnostic measures of turning off plugins and switching to the default theme helps determine that the problems are indeed compatibility issues.

No matter how user friendly and simple WordPress claims to be. You still need a basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, image resolution and web standards in order to make things work.

I am a web designer/developer and I rarely accept jobs updating other peoples WordPress sites because I do not like to mess with other developer’s code. Trying to figure out how someone coded their theme is a pain. Everything I do is from scratch so I know how it works.

I once poured my own cement into a square for the steps to my deck and it came out like crap, that is what you get when you do it yourself. I go to the dentist when I have a cavity and I go to the doctor when I am sick. I would never try to fill my own cavity or do my own surgery. Yeah it is expensive, but they are pros. (and sometimes I get a crappy doctor and have to pick another)

I suggest you find a competent web designer and try to learn the basics of coding. If we were allowed I would offer my help, but that is not allowed on the forums. Without actually looking into your theme and admin there is little help i can offer from here.

    Good luck!
