• Hi – Recently I upgraded my host providers PHP5.2 to PHP5.3. All worked well initially then after awhile I started to get ‘white screens’ after trying to execute a link, hitting F5 repeatedly it would recover especially after waiting for a few minutes. It was particularly bad when I was in admin. I did deactivate all plugins and I did go to a separate location to make sure it wasn’t my network or PC. I also used different browsers. I eventually gave up and returned to PHP5.2 and all works again, no whitescreens.

I’d appreciate any advice on this matter. I have the possibility to upgrade to php5.4

    regards Simon

Thanks for your reply, the information was certainly useful. The interesting thing is that it does work with php5.3 but irregularly. I have several different themes and I even switched to standard theme like twenty thirteen and still had the same problem. For periods of time it would work fine and then would start having problems. It’s as if the some buffer was filling causing the link to hang. So I’m in the same dilemma as what to try next
